Our Story

From family business roots to industry leadership

Founded on Real Business Experience

Grnded Agency was founded by Steve McKenna and Alyssa McKenna—an entrepreneurial husband and wife team who have built and scaled multiple businesses in B2B and B2C industries. Starting at age 17, Steve worked full time through University in his parents' business, completing his degree working nights and weekends.

After earning a Business Degree with a Major in Marketing from the University of Regina in 2008, Steve went on to co-found and lead three successful companies to multi-million dollar annual revenues. He received multiple ABEX Awards and was a finalist for several others, earning recognition throughout his career for business excellence and entrepreneurial achievement.

Today, Steve brings over 20 years of B2B sales and marketing experience, plus 15+ years of B2C demand generation expertise, to help businesses achieve breakthrough growth through proven marketing strategies.

Our Journey

Two decades of business growth and industry leadership

2007

Co-Founded Luxury Granite, Quartz & Marble

Launched with a focus on high-end residential and commercial installations. Grew to nearly $4M in annual revenue with 25 employees, securing major projects including a $450,000 installation for Mosaic Stadium.

2012

Rebranded to McKenna Distribution

Transformed McKenna's Flooring Supplies into a regional powerhouse. Expanded operations into the U.S., developed private label brands, and grew revenue to $9M annually. Sourced and launched a private label LVP brand that reached $5M in sales by 2019.

2014

Family Enterprise of the Year Award

Recognized by the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE) for excellence in family business management and growth.
